Scrappin Tips Tuesday

We all hit a creative block once in a while and need some inspiration. In scrapping, when you get inspiration from another scrapper it's called CASE (copy and selectively edit) or scraplifting. In the general scrapping community it's considered acceptable so long as you credit the original source.

For my shop, I have to be very careful about new ideas and copying but in my personal scrapping I do use other sites for inspiration. Here are some of my favorites.

A Scrappy Place. Unfortunately this site hasn't been updated recently, but it still has many sketches organized by number of pictures and a section for two pagers. I like sketches because it gives you a general starting point but you still need to decide on color schemes and embellishments. You can use Google to search for other sketch sites- there are a lot out there!

Scrapjazz.com Gallery. This one doesn't seem to be as popular as other galleries but I think it's a wealth of information. If you select the layouts tab you can select cute, funny, beautiful and other options. I have a folder in my pictures folder and I save the ones I'd like to use for inspiration in my personal layouts. This way I can browse as I have time and when I'm ready to scrap I don't spend all of my time browsing.

Splitcoaststampers. I don't stamp much (I opted for a die cutter so I don't buy many stamps to justify the cost and I'm limited on space) but this is a wealth of information for techniques, tips, and inspiration. The resources are wonderful for new techniques and finding new ways to use old tools and products.

Well there are my deep dark scrapping secrets. If you have more sites you love and get inspiration please leave a comment, I'd love to check them out!
