How to make an easy slow cooker hot chocolate for a crowd.  This recipe is rich, creamy, and perfect for parties.  Both kids and adults will love this rich chocolate flavor.  Use different flavored chips for different flavors of hot chocolate.

Each year, we host a family Christmas party for the town.  I make graham cracker gingerbread houses for the kids to make, get snacks donated from local businesses, and have a hot chocolate bar.

Making hot chocolate for a crowd can be tricky, but now I use this easy slow cooker hot chocolate recipe.  It takes about 5 minutes to prep, so I can make it quickly and let it cook while I'm doing other party prep.

Hot Chocolate Bar Ideas

I meant to get some photos of my hot chocolate bar and gingerbread houses this year, but it was a crazy busy day.  I got photos of the party, but none had the houses or hot chocolate bar in them.

We have a lot of parties and events, so I made chalkboard signs so I can reuse them all year.  For an inexpensive decoration, there are a lot of hot chocolate bar printables on Etsy.  For $5-10, you can print signs and labels for all of your hot chocolate bar goodies.

What are Good Toppings for Hot Chocolate?

People loving choosing their own toppings for their slow cooker hot chocolate.  It's not practical to buy a lot of toppings to keep at home, but when you have a party it's fun to have a lot of toppings for your guest to choose from.

Some favorites are:

Can You Reheat Hot Chocolate Made With Milk?

Yes!  You can absolutely reheat this slow cooker hot chocolate recipe.  If I make it just for the family, there are usually a few cups leftover.

I put them in the fridge and reheat the next day.  Just be careful that you don't burn it.  I reheat it on the stove top so it doesn't boil.

Customize Your Easy Slow Cooker Hot Chocolate

I love this recipe because you can customize it.  The original recipe I used called for semisweet chocolate chips, but we like the milk chocolate chips.

You can even use white chocolate chips to make slow cooker white chocolate.  You can even color it pink or purple for unicorn hot chocolate.

The heavy whipping cream makes this very creamy.  I  usually use a lower fat milk to lighten it up a little bit.
