The Best Instant Pot Accessories on Amazon

Find the best Instant Pot accessories on Amazon so you can get the most out of your Instant Pot.

I remember my grandmother had a pressure cooker buried deep on a shelf in her basement.  I never saw her use it.  Honestly, it scared me a little bit.

When I heard about the Instant Pot, I wasn't sure I'd like it.  I do use a pressure canner for canning, and it intimidates me a little bit.

These are my must have Instant Pot accessories. I use these products all the time! If you are a new Instant Pot user or a seasoned one, these are the best things to buy to get the most out of your Instant Pot. These are all available on Amazon and most are under $20. This has metal and silicone accessories. Use these to make more recipes and learn how to use them for your cooking. #instantpot #accessories

My dad got my an Instant Pot for Christmas two years ago.  I quickly got over my fear, and now I love it.  I use it several times a week for food prep and for cooking dinner.

Over the last two years, I've picked up some of the best Instant Pot accessories.  Here's the ones I love so you know which ones are worth getting and which ones you can skip.

The Best Instant Pot Accessories on Amazon

For your convenience, I'm including products on Amazon.  Now that I have one day delivery, I love Amazon again.  I'm ordering more and more of my every day basics from them because I don't even have to leave the house.

They are also adding more discounts for Prime members.  Last week I saved over $10 on an item just because I had Prime.  If you don't have Prime, start your free trial to see how you like it.

We use it for Amazon Video since we don't pay for cable, Amazon music, and free shipping.

The Best Instant Pot

Before we discuss the best Instant Pot accessories on Amazon, let's talk about Instant Pots.

I have the Instant Pot Duo 6 Quart.  I also have an off brand pressure cooker from Aldi.  The one from Aldi works well, but I use the Instant Pot brand more often.

Why?

Because most recipes online are for the Instant Pot.  It's easier to use knowing that the times and functions are the same.

We have a family of 5.  The 6-quart is the perfect size.  I would probably recommend getting an 8-quart if you have 6 or more people in the family though.

Most recipes online are for the 6 quart.  You can adapt most for the 8-quart, but scaling down to the 3-quart might be a problem.

I like the Duo because it's fairly user friendly and still has a lot of features.  I use mine to make yogurt and rice.

What are the Best Instant Pot Accessories?

These are my best Instant Pot accessories.  You might not need all of these, but you'll probably find a few that you'll like.

The best Instant Pot accessories are the ones that you'll use!  Don't feel that you'll need all of them.

Do You Need Accessories for the Instant Pot?

No, you can use the Instant Pot right out of the box.  These accessories help me get more out of my Instant Pot, so I like to use them to make life easier.

I use my Instant Pot about four times a week with these accessories.  They are a bit of an investment, so I want to get the most use out of it that I can.

I also live in an area with crazy high electricity rates.  The Instant Pot helps me use less electricity versus cooking in the oven.  This definitely motives me to use it more.

Can I Use Pyrex In the Instant Pot?

Yes, anything that is safe to use in the oven can be used in the Instant Pot.  I prefer to use metal, but Pyrex can be used.

You'll need to add about 5 minutes to the cooking time.  Also set it on a trivet and add 1 1/2 cups of water instead of 1 cup.

Can You Use Aluminum Foil in an Instant Pot?

Yes, you can!  I used foil to make slings before I got my sling.  I like my sling better because I've had foil rip, but it can be done.

You can also use foil on the bottom to lift up your food.

Extra Sealing Rings

Extra sealing rings are definitely the best Instant Pot accessory that I own!  When you cook foods with onions or garlic, the rings can take on the scent.  You don't want to cook a dessert with the same ring because the smell can transfer.

I love these are different colors.  You can use one for sweet and one for savory and know which is which just by looking at them.

Instant Pot Tempered Glass Lid

I use my Instant Pot to make yogurt and sometimes as a slow cooker to keep things warm.  I resisted getting the glass lid because I thought it wasn't necessary, but now I really like it.

If you make a lot of yogurt, I highly recommend getting the glass lid.

Stackable Egg Steamer Trivet

I make hard boiled eggs in my Instant Pot two or three times a month.  With these stacking egg steamers, I can cook 14 eggs at a time.  We eat them plain and on salads, so this is a big time saver for me.

Instant Pot Sling

Once you get a sling for your Instant Pot, you'll wonder how you went without it.  It helps you lift foods out of the Instant Pot in one piece.  If you've ever taken out a roast and it broke in half, then you need this.

I also acts like a trivet, so it keeps the meat off of the juice so it doesn't get soaked in the juices.

You can also lay eggs on it.  I prefer the stacking egg trivets, but this is great if you only want to do a half dozen eggs at a time.

Egg Bites Mold

I make egg bites and freeze them for a low carb and healthy breakfast.  The kids and I both like them.  I like this egg bite mold set because it stacks and you can make 14 at a time.

You can also use it for desserts like brownie bites or cake.

Silicone Baking Cups

Another option is to use silicone baking cups to make egg bites and other small desserts.  I prefer the ease of the egg cups, but you can use these in the oven for cupcakes and muffins, so they may be more beneficial for some people.

Bowl Grips

I wasn't too sure about these bowl grips at first, but now I love them.  If you do pot in pot (cheesecake pan, for example, and don't want to get burnt grabbing the pot out of the Instant Pot, then you need these bowl grips.

I also use them for getting dishes out of the microwave.

Silicone Oven Mitts

I also use silicone oven mitts for my Instant Pot and for cooking in the oven.  They are big and handle high heat like a champ.  I also use them at the grill and for deep frying.

They are also very easy to clean since they are silicone.

Instant Pot Air Fryer Lid

I have an air fryer that we love, but I was so excited to get the Instant Pot air fryer lid.  This fits most 6 quart Instant Pot models.  It not only air fries, but it also bakes, reheats, broils, and dehydrates.

Look for several recipes using this coming soon!

Steamer Basket

I use the steamer basket often.  I use it for making vegetables and for my homemade Instant Pot chicken broth.  I can just lift the basket out and easily strain the liquid from the solids.

I also have a divided steamer basket.  This is awesome if you regularly make two things at once and don't want them cooking together.

Stacking Steamer Baskets

Use a stacking steamer basket to cook your meet in one and your veggies on top so the veggies don't get mushy.  We don't like our veggies cooked in the juices, so this works better for us.

Instant Pot Cheesecake Pan

Instant Pot cheesecake is the best!  I won't make it in the oven again.  Use a 7 inch cheesecake pan for a 6-quart Instant Pot.

Yogurt Strainer

I make yogurt a lot in my Instant Pot.  I make it plain and use it as a substitute for sour cream and sometimes even cream cheese in recipes.  This yogurt strainer frees up the liner so I can keep using the Instant Pot while it strains, and it works great to make thick Greek yogurt.

Instant Pot Accessories You Don't Need

Here are some that you probably won't need:

  • Extra pot liners.  I thought the nonstick one would be nice, but I haven't had anything stick that Barkeepers Friend didn't get out.  Besides, you'll probably want to just get another Instant Pot, so your money would be better spent on a new pot and not just another liner.
  • Silicone lid.  Other than yogurt, I don't keep leftovers in the pot.  If you do, then you might want to pick them up.  I find that I can just use my regular storage containers and wash the pot right away.
