Buffalo Chicken Dip With Cream Cheese

How to make buffalo chicken dip with cream cheese and rotisserie chicken.  This makes a great appetizer for a party.

I've heard that there's a big game coming up soon.  My family won't be watching the big football game, but we will be watching the Puppy Bowl before that.  We make all the snacky foods and watch the puppies.

When that's over, we will watch the commercials and the half time show.  We usually make pizza (I've learned never to order pizza on that day!) and live on snack foods like this buffalo chicken dip with cream cheese.

My kids are picky eaters, but surprisingly two of the three will eat this dip.  They both like buffalo hot sauce, which really shocks me since one is a really picky eater.

Buffalo Chicken Dip With Cream Cheese Rotisserie Chicken

You can make this buffalo chicken dip with cream cheese recipe with rotisserie chicken or homemade shredded chicken.  For easier homemade shredded chicken, so how I make shredded chicken in my Instant Pot.

My Walmart sometimes has rotisserie chickens for $3!  I've been known to buy 4 of them and change dinner plans and freeze the rest for dinners like this one.

Of course, I always reserve the carcass for making bone broth in the Instant Pot.

What Goes Good With Buffalo Chicken Dip?

We usually use crackers or nacho chips, but try one of these creative foods to eat with your buffalo chicken dip with cream cheese.

  • Fries
  • Crescent rolls
  • Potato skins
  • Inside egg rolls
  • With pasta
  • On pizza
  • In a grilled cheese
  • Celery sticks
  • Carrot sticks
  • Toasted bagel slices
Or just eat it plain with a spoon!

What Kind of Crackers Go With Buffalo Chicken Dip?

You can try your favorite cracker.  I usually use the Club crackers or saltines.

How Long Can Buffalo Chicken Dip Sit Out?

Buffalo chicken dip with cream cheese can sit at room temperature for about two hours.  We put half in the fridge and switch it out or put it away after two hours.

You can also use a slow cooker to keep it warm after you cook it in the oven.

How Long Does Buffalo Dip Stay Good For?

You can store it in the fridge for three to five days after you make it.  If you use precooked chicken, go by the date that it was cooked and not the date that you made the dip.

Can You Freeze Buffalo Chicken Dip?

Yes, you can freeze it up to three months for best results.  To thaw, let it sit in the fridge overnight and then reheat as in the directions.

I don't recommend heating it from frozen.  It may become watery.

What foods can be frozen? Some may surprise you!

What is Buffalo Flavor?

Buffalo is a great flavor for chicken.  It's traditionally made from a hot sauce made with cayenne pepper, vinegar, butter, garlic, and other seasonings.

Can I Make Buffalo Chicken Dip in a Slow Cooker?

Yes, you can.  I prefer it baked, but I will use the slow cooker if I have a lot of party prep to do.  Make it as directed but cook for three to four hours on low.  Stir every 30 minutes.

I've also baked it in the oven and transferred it to the slow cooker.  I get the baked taste with the cheese, but it still says warm.
