Dollar Tree Pizza Pan Motivational Sign DIY

Learn how to make a Dollar Tree pizza pan motivational sign DIY for less than $4.  This is actually made with a Dollar Tree pizza pan, and it turned out so cute!

Raising a teen daughter is hard, y'all.   I'm raising here to be a strong, independent thinker.  Sure, she loves her dresses, unicorns, and glitter, but she can kick some tushy in karate.

She's like her mother in that we don't like to be told that we can't do something, especially if it's just because we are girls.

Say that to her, and I guarantee you that she will get it done.  And she will probably do it in a dress with her fingernails painted with glitter.  And she won't even disturb her manicure.

As she's growing from a little girl to a young woman, I'm trying to surround her with positivity.  I wanted to make her a motivational sign DIY to hang in her room so she always remembers how fierce she really is.

Last week when I was in Dollar Tree looking for supplies for a few more crafts to blog, I found the perfect picture for her new sign.

I love it, she loves it, and it's a reminder to always prove them wrong.

Dollar Tree Pizza Pan Motivational Sign DIY

This was entirely a Dollar Tree craft idea, from the base of the sign to the picture to the decorations.  My total cost was $4.

Actually, it was less than that since I had leftovers from three of the supplies.

I only needed to add some hot glue and some Mod Podge.  Dollar Tree does carry Mod Podge in small bottles, but I buy it buy the gallon for other crafting.

Supplies

The base of this motivational sign DIY is a Dollar Tree pizza pan!  The Dollar Tree pizza pans probably aren't the best for pizza pans, but they make excellent signs.

I used one for my Dollar Tree fall farmhouse decor sign.

As with the fall farmhouse sign, I used a calendar for the picture.  They had a bunch of really cute calendars, and I just loved this motivational one.

I used two more pictures to make signs for my office.  I love the colors and the sayings on all of the months.

Per the employee at my Dollar Tree, once these are gone, they are gone.  They will not get more in.

They have other calendars on their website, but they don't have these.  Don't be sad though, because you can get a motivational calendar on Amazon and use it.

Yes, the cost is higher, but you can use it to make 12 signs.  These make great gifts too!

Decorations

The calendar was just a teensy bit too small, so I wanted to put something around the edge.  Dollar Tree has twine, but I didn't want a brown edge.

I looked for ribbon and didn't see any wide enough, so I went searching for rope.  Instead, I found a mop head

The mop head ended up working really well.  The strings are really thick, but I still had to double them.

It was also very easy to take apart.  I just pulled on a string, and it came right out.  One string covered just over half of the pan, so I used 4 total.

That leaves me with plenty of white string to make more signs!

I didn't want to add flowers to her sign, so I strolled through Dollar Tree and found these blue gems.  They are diamond shaped, so I had to glue them on the string.

You have to buy 24 packs from Dollar Tree online, so if you want to order them, you might want to try Amazon to get just one pack.

I wanted them to go on the outer rim, but I wanted them flat.  Your Dollar Tree may have something else that works better for that or check your craft stash.

Dollar Tree Pizza Pan Motivational Sign Supplies

Directions

Step #1

I took the staples out of the calendar and cut off the picture that I wanted to use.  Then lay it on the pizza pan.  Use a pencil to make where you need to cut and cut off the corners so the picture will lay flat.

Step #2

Use Mod Podge to glue the picture to the pizza pan.  Let dry.

Step #3

Hot glue the string from the mop around the edge of the pan.  I used two rows to cover the gap.

Step #4

Use hot glue to attach the jewels on the string.

Step #5

Use a piece of the string to make a hanger on the back.  I glued it on.

And you're done!  I love it, Dakota loves it.  And it's a good reminder to always prove them wrong.
