How to Make Yogurt Bark

This blueberry Greek yogurt bark recipe is healthy and easy to make.  It's great for kids or adults, and you can enjoy it for breakfast, a sweet treat, or as a snack.  Since it's a frozen yogurt bark recipe, it will keep in the freezer for three months, so it's great for meal prep.

I'll admit that I don't always eat as healthy as I could.  I mean I'm trying, but then life happens.

Eating healthy takes work.  I meal plan before I go shopping so I can plan healthy (or healthier)  meals, but sometimes I just don't have time.

This blueberry Greek yogurt bark recipe is perfect for those busy weeks.  There are only to ingredients: yogurt and blueberries.

My kids love cooking, and this is one of those recipes that they could make when they were little.  They like getting creative with different fruits.

Of course, none of my kids can agree on the same flavor.  This frozen yogurt bark recipe is easy to make two flavors at once.  If you want to add nuts, add them to part of it so not everyone has to eat parts with nuts.

Blueberry Greek Yogurt Bark Recipe

You can make this frozen yogurt bark recipe with your choice of yogurt.  I either make my own Instant Pot cold start yogurt or buy Greek yogurt.

If you've never made yogurt in your Instant Pot, I highly recommend it.  It tastes amazing!  If you leave it unflavored, you can use it as a substitute for sour cream in recipes.

Homemade yogurt used to be a labor of love, but now I can dump the ingredients into my Instant Pot and let it do its thing while I go about my day.

It's creamier and has a better flavor I think.  The longer you let it cook, the tangier it gets.  I usually stop it after 8 hours so it's milder because that's what we prefer.

Greek Yogurt vs Regular Yogurt

So what is Greek yogurt anyway?  What makes it so special for this blueberry Greek yogurt bark recipe?

Greek yogurt is just regular yogurt that has more whey strained out.  It's thicker and creamier.  It is tangier, so I don't eat it plain because it's just not my preference.

But it's perfect for this easy blueberry Greek yogurt bark recipe.  Since it's thicker than regular yogurt, it freezes harder.

Greek Yogurt has less sugar than regular yogurt.  It's also higher in protein and has fewer carbs.
Greek yogurt is usually more expensive because there's more milk in each cup.

You can also use Greek yogurt in one of the following recipes:

Greek Yogurt Flavors

I used a store bought blueberry yogurt for my frozen yogurt bark recipe.  You can also make this with homemade or store bought plain Greek yogurt.

If you do, I would add a few tablespoons of a natural jelly or jam to the yogurt to flavor it.

Get creative!  You can add some pistachios or almonds with the blueberries.

Or add some other fruits to make a mixed fruit or mixed berry Greek yogurt bark recipe.

  1. So, how would this taste freeze dried? And I wonder if I could use Oat Milk yogurt?

    1. I haven't freeze dried regular yogurt, but I've heard that it just falls apart. You can mix it with whipped topping for yogurt bites. I think it would freeze dry and taste good, but I'd do the yogurt and add a piece of fruit to the top or puree the fruit. It sounds good though!
