Chicken Wire Wreath (Dollar Tree Farmhouse Egg Wreath)

How to make a chicken wire wreath with Dollar Tree supplies.  This doesn't use chicken wire, but it's a cute hack to get the look without cutting chicken wire and getting poked in the fingers.  This is a cute Dollar Tree farmhouse decor wreath for Easter or any time of the year.

Farmhouse Egg Wreath

I live in an actual farmhouse, which isn't as glamorous as the farmhouse redos on TV.  A real farmhouse doesn't have nearly as nice of a kitchen, but I digress.

Since we have critters and chickens, I decorate my dining in a farmhouse theme with chickens and other farm animals.

Since I'm all about Dollar Tree for craft supplies, I hit them up for Dollar Tree farmhouse decor.

Why You'll Love This Farmhouse Egg Wreath

I like using chicken wire in crafting, and I used it to make this farm house wreath.  Chicken wire is cute, but it's not fun to work with.

I always end up poking my fingers and then I have wires poking out all over.

I've seen this wreath with a chicken wire wreath form, but Dollar Tree is more in my budget for decorating.  So I decided to recreate it to make a Dollar Tree farmhouse wreath.

Farm House Wreath With Chicken Eggs Supplies

You will need the following to make a farmhouse egg wreath:

Dollar Tree Square Wreath Form - Instead of using a chicken wire wreath form, I used two square wreath forms from Dollar Tree.  You can find them with the floral supplies in store or order them from Dollar Tree.  You get free shipping to the store.  You can also find them on Etsy or Amazon.

Spanish Moss - I also picked up Spanish Moss from Dollar Tree.  You can also find it on Etsy or Amazon.

White Spray Paint - I used plastic Easter eggs and painted them white.   I recommend using Rustoleum Paint and Primer for better coverage.

Zip Ties - I used zip ties to attach the two wreath forms together.  You can also use floral wire.

Hot Glue Gun

Plastic Easter Eggs - I used Easter eggs I grabbed at Dollar Tree.  You can also use paper mache eggs.

Bow - You can make your own or buy one premade.

Lantern - I found a white lantern in the garden section at Dollar Tree.

How to Make a Dollar Tree Farmhouse Wreath With Chicken Eggs

Step #1

Use spray paint to paint the eggs white.  I recommend three coats.  Let them dry between coats.

Step #2

Place one of the square wreath forms on a table upside down so is open facing you.  Add Spanish moss inside the frame.  Don't add too much because it will be hard to close.

Step #3

Use hot glue to attach the painted eggs to the moss.  Place them around the wreath until it looks good to you.

Step #4

Place the other square wreath form on top of the moss and eggs to create a cage.  Secure the two wreath forms together with zip ties.  I used one on the top and one on the bottom.  I placed them where the lantern and bow would cover them.

Step #5

Use hot glue to attach the lantern to the bottom of the wreath.  I placed it on top of the bottom edge.  Then glue the bow on the front of the top side.

Now you have a farmhouse wreath DIY made with Dollar Tree supplies!
