Dollar Tree Heart Wreath for Valentine's Day

How to make a Dollar Tree heart wreath.  This is an easy wreath to make, and all the materials that I used are from the dollar store!  If you need wire heart wreath ideas, this is a cute wreath for your front door or to hang in your home.

DIY Valentine's Day Wreath

I don't decorate a lot for Valentine's Day, but I do like to make a wreath for above my fireplace.  My porch isn't covered, so I don't usually hang wreaths on my door.

Besides, I live a half mile from the road.  I'd rather enjoy my DIY Valentine's Day wreath than put it where no one will see it.

I started looking for Valentine's Day wreath ideas for some inspiration.  Dollar Tree has some fun wreath forms, so I needed some wire heart wreath ideas to make my Dollar Tree heart wreath.

I decided to keep my DIY Valentine's Day wreath simple with some nautical rope and some fake roses from Dollar Tree.

How Do You Make a Valentine's Day Wreath?

Valentine's Day is a fun and cutesy holiday, which I think we all need after the dark and cold days of winter.  Typically, Valentine's Day decorations are heart shaped for love.

You'll also find a lot of flowers, pink, and red for heart shaped wreath ideas.  Purple, white, and even blue can also be used for Valentine's Day.

I picked off white flowers for a rustic farmhouse look for my DIY Valentine's Day wreath, but you can use your favorite colors.

If you're looking for wire heart wreath ideas, start with a heart shaped wreath form.  You can find them at Dollar Tree, but they do sell out quickly.  You can also find them on Amazon or Etsy.

If you order from Dollar Tree online, you can get it shipped to your store for free.  I like the heart shape, but you can also use a round wreath for Valentine's Day wreath ideas.

How Do You Make a Dollar Tree Wreath?

Dollar Tree has all kinds of supplies for wreaths.  Each store varies, but they have ribbon, flowers, wreath forms, foam circles for wreaths, and even hot glue.

If you look around the seasonal aisle, a lot of things can be repurposed to use for decorations.  I like to use small signs to use in wreaths.

How Do You Wrap a Heart Wreath?

Wrapping a Dollar Tree heart wreath can be tricky!  The curve at the top and the point at the bottom can be difficult.

That's part of the reason that I used nautical rope and flowers for my Dollar Tree heart wreath.  This way, I only had to wrap half of the heart shaped wreath DIY.

To wrap a Dollar Tree heart wreath, place the end of the rope on the back of the wire wreath form and use hot glue to attach it.

Then wrap around the form until you've covered what you want to cover.  Use hot glue to attach the other end and cut where you want it cut.

If you use a smaller twine, then I recommend wrapping it around the wreath form and tying it.  Then use hot glue to attach it.

How Do I Attach Decorations to a Wreath?

You can use super glue or hot glue for heart shaped wreath ideas.  I prefer to use a glue gun simply because it's easier and dries quickly.

Be sure to use hot glue finger protectors.

How Do You Make a Flower Heart Wreath?

Step #1

Begin by wrapping the nautical rope around half of the heart shaped wreath form.  I used two nautical ropes from Dollar Tree.  Secure the rope with hot glue at the beginner and the end.  You can also add dabs of glue as you wrap.

Step #2

Pop the roses off of the stems.  Mine came right off, but you might need wire cutters for some flowers.  Use a dot of hot glue on the bottom of the roses near the stem to attach them to the wire wreath.  I glued them right to the wreath form.  However, you can also wrap the wreath with deco mesh and attach the roses to the mesh.

Add roses until the Dollar Tree heart wreath looks full.

Now you know how to decorate a heart shaped wreath.  Have fun with it.  Add some cute Valentine's Day signs from Dollar Tree or use a different color of roses to make it your own.
