Easy Apple Cider Sangria Recipe

Learn how to make an easy apple cider sangria recipe.  You'll love how easy this fall drink recipe is, and your guests will love the unique flavor of this adult beverage.

You're hosting a fall party, and you're not sure what to serve for a drink.  If party day at your house means scrambling to get last minute cleaning and food prep done, then this recipe is perfect for you!

I enjoying hosting parties, but I dread party day.  I wake up and immediately do last minute cleaning.  Seriously, do elves come in the house and mess it up while I sleep?

I like this recipe because I can make it in the morning and let it chill until I'm ready to serve.  You can prep this in 10 minutes.

Then when you're ready to serve, just take it out of the fridge, add soda, and pour.  Yes, it's that easy.

But your guests will love it!  Every time I make this, people want the recipe.  So it's finally time to share it.

Easy Apple Cider Sangria Recipe

Sangria is like a punch for adults.  It has wine and brandy in it, so make sure it's kept away from the kiddos.

Typically, sangria is made with a red wine, but we are using a white wine for this easy apple cider sangria recipe.

Then you chop up fruit, spices, or herbs and let them soak in the wine for several hours.  Then serve.

Choosing Wine for Sangria

As I mentioned, you'd usually use a red wine for a sangria recipe.  For this recipe, I prefer the white wine.

You can use your favorite white wine in this recipe.   You can use your favorite white wine.  I'm not a wine person, so I don't have a favorite.  In that case, I recommend Sauvignon Blanc or a Riesling wine.

I really like the Winking Owl Sauvignon Blanc from Aldi.  It's around $4 a bottle (or less!), and it's perfect for this recipe.

Winking Owl Sauvignon Blanc has notes of citrus, lemon, and apple.  You might also like Winking Owl Pinot Grigio with a hint of citrus, pear, and honeysuckle.

Brandy

Like a typical sangria recipe, I also add some brandy.  You can get regular brandy or a flavored brandy.

Depending on availability, you can use vanilla brandy, spiced brandy, ginger brandy, apple brandy, or pear brandy.

Flavored brandy would be really good in this easy apple cider sangria recipe, but I use regular brandy.  I don't use it for any other recipes except sangria, so I want to be able to use it for all of my sangria recipes.

Apples

You can use most apple varieties to make your sangria recipe.  I like to use honey crisp or Granny Smith apples.

Granny Smith apples are tart, but honey crisp are both slightly sweet and slightly sour.  They are also firm and hold up well after soaking in the wine for hours.

No matter which apple you try, you'll just need to wash them, core them, and chop them.  You do not need to peel them to make easy apple cider sangria.

Apple Cider

When you buy apple cider, look for one that is darker in color.  It should also be cloudy.  I get mine from the Amish, so it's fresh pressed and tastes amazing.

A pale or clear apple cider won't give you as much flavor for this easy apple cider sangria recipe.

You can also make this easy hot apple cider in a Crock Pot slow cooker.

Club Soda or Soda

In addition to the wine and brandy, sangria has a little bit of bubbles thanks to club soda or soda.  You can use club soda, but I usually use ginger ale or a lemon lime soda.

You won't use the entire container of soda, so feel free to use one that you or your family will enjoy so you don't waste anything.

If you don't think that you'll use all of this easy apple cider sangria recipe in one evening, you can just add the soda per glass.  You'll have to eyeball it, but it will help keep it fizzy.

Pitcher and Glasses

A pretty apple sangria recipe like this begs for a nice pitcher and glasses.  I really like this clear pitcher and glasses on Amazon.

It's a fantastic price, and it looks so fancy!
