How to Make Apple Cider Mimosa

Apple cider mimosas are delicious for summer or fall.  This is a cold sparkling cider cocktail that can be served at brunch, but it's yummy any time of the day.  This is an easy recipe with only three ingredients, so it's easy to prepare for your guests.

Pumpkins and pumpkin spice get most of the attention in the fall, but for drinks, apples are superior in my opinion.  We look forward to apple cider season each year.

I like to serve apple cider at fall parties, and we have a jug while we are playing games as a family on game night.

For grown up drinks, I like this apple cider mimosa recipe.  It's so easy to make by the glass or by the pitcher.

How to Make Apple Cider Mimosa

Apple cider is delicious in the fall.  I like to drink it warm, but it's also good cold.  While you can use apple cider out of the jug, I prefer to make this easy hot apple cider recipe in the Crock Pot slow cooker and use that instead.

The extra spices and the slow cooking really bring out the flavor.  Let it cool and then use it in this sparkling cider cocktail.

You can also make this easy mulled apple cider recipe and let it cool.  It has more depth with the spices, and it's delicious to drink warm for the kids or those who don't drink.

If you want to make apple cider from scratch, I like making Instant Pot apple cider.

What Time of Day Do You Drink Mimosa?

Typically, you would drink an apple cider mimosa recipe at brunch or in the morning.  However, I like to have a sparkling cider cocktail in the evenings.

Can You Get Drunk Off Mimosa?

Yes, this recipe for apple cider mimosas does have alcohol, so you can get drunk.  Always drink responsibly.

What Alcohol Mixes Well With Apple Cider?

Apple cider is a great base for a cocktail because it goes well with several kinds of alcohol.  This sparkling apple cider cocktail uses sparkling wine or champagne, but these also pair well with apple cider:

  • Vodka
  • Rum
  • Bourbon
  • Brandy
  • Tequila
  • Scotch
  • Cognac

What Goes in an Apple Cider Mimosa?

I used sparling wine and apple cider for my recipe for apple cider mimosas.  I also added sliced apples for a garnish.

Is Sparkling Wine Good for Mimosas?

When you're learning how to make apple cider mimosa, you might wonder which sparkling wine or champagne to use.  Personally, I like to use a sparkling dry white wine.

I recommend using Cava from Spain or Prosecco from Italy.  Both are inexpensive and easy to find.  They are about $15, give or a take a few dollars, per bottle.

I don't recommend going really cheap for your sparkling apple cider cocktail recipe unless you're familiar with the brand.  A cheap brand may be more likely to give you a headache.

What is the Best Champagne to Use for Mimosas?

Personally, I like sparkling wine for an apple cider mimosa recipe.  It's less expensive, and it tastes good.  If you have a champagne that you like, feel free to use it.

What Juice is Good for Mimosa?

This sparkling cider cocktail uses apple cider, but you can other juices.  Here are some good ones to try:

  • Orange juice
  • Peach juice
  • Mango juice
  • Pomegranate juice
  • Blackberry juice

This recipe for apple cider mimosas is good any time of the day, but if you are serving it for breakfast or brunch, here are some ideas:

  • Quiche
  • Breakfast pizza
  • Eggs benedict
  • Breakfast casserole
  • Frittata
  • Potato puffs

How to Make Non-Alcoholic Apple Cider Mimosa

To make a non-alcoholic apple cider mimosa recipe, I recommend just buying sparkling apple cider.  You can also use club soda or sparkling white grape juice instead of the sparkling wine.

You can also use a non-alcoholic sparkling dry white wine.

  • Rim the glass with cinnamon sugar.
