Pumpkin Spice Iced Latte Recipe

How to make a pumpkin spice latte recipe at home.  This is a delicious drink that tastes just like an expensive coffee house drink at a fraction of the price.

Starbuck's has already released their pumpkin spice latte for the year, but it's still in the 80s and 90s here.  I love fall and I love coffee, but I don't enjoy a PSL quite as much when it's this hot outside.

Until the temperature drops a bit, I'll be sipping this pumpkin spice iced latte recipe.  This is amazing, and the pumpkin makes a delicious cold drink.

This recipe is easy to adapt.  If you want to make it sugar free, you can.  You can also make it vegan or dairy free.

Iced lattes aren't really expensive where I get them, but the cost still adds up.  You can make this a lot cheaper, and I think it tastes a lot fresher.

Depending on what ingredients or syrups the coffee house uses, there might not even be real pumpkin in your  pumpkin spice iced latte recipe!

The syrups they use are full of preservatives and emulsifiers that can cause inflammation in your body, depending on which ones they use.

Iced Coffee

I highly recommend using a cold brew.  Cold brew isn't as bitter as hot brew, and it changes the taste of this pumpkin spice iced latte recipe.

You can brew extra coffee in the morning and refrigerate it.  You can also make an Instant Pot iced coffee concentrate.  I've used both, and they both work well.

But for the best taste, you'll want to make a cold brew or buy one.  I usually make it.  This is how I make my cold brew coffee at home.

If I buy it, I buy Stok brand iced coffee.  I think it has a milder flavor that is very similar to what I make at home.

When I make a cold brew, I use a pitcher similar to this one.  The filter makes it easy to make it without straining, but it does take a full day.

Milk

You can use heavy whipping cream, half and half, or any cow's milk.  I usually use 2 percent if I use cow's milk.

Lately, I've been drinking more iced lattes, so I'm using oat milk to limit my milk consumption.  I don't like it as much as cow's milk, but I like it better than almond milk.

Use what works for you.  The pumpkin and spices will overpower the taste of the milk anyway.

Pumpkin Puree

Use real pumpkin puree.  I make my own each year and freeze it in ice cube trays to use later.  If you do buy pumpkin puree, make sure that you use pumpkin  puree and not pumpkin pie filling.

Spoon leftover puree into an ice cube tray and freeze.  Then pop it out and place in a bag.  Now you have puree for your next pumpkin spice iced latte recipe!

Sweetener

I really like this pumpkin spice latte recipe with maple syrup as a sweetener.  I've also used real sugar and coconut sugar.

They all taste great.  Use your favorite sugar or sugar substitute.
